According to M&C reports the government will allow for more flexible measures of wine and beer to get rid of unnecessary red tape. The regulations were imposed to protect consumers and give guidelines to businesses, however these laws are now set to be relaxed. Science minister David Willets says that freeing businesses allows them to be innovate and create new products to meet the demands of their customers. Offering a sample of wine for a charge will no longer be illegal. The British Beer & Pub Association approved of the introduction of two-thirds of a pint as it would benefit marketing efforts of beer to women who do not always fancy a whole pint.
