For many it's a time to be at home with the family, but around 1 in 5 people could be tempted to the pub or restaurant on Christmas Day this year according to our latest research.
Our survey of 949 mystery diners shows that 11% already have plans in place to visit a local establishment, with further 9% being undecided at present. One thing's for sure, lunchtime will be the busiest time with the majority of those heading out for an early pint for a couple of hours.
18% said they would be venturing out for a full Christmas Day meal, but double that number will be out for a lunchtime tipple.
Pubs and restaurants should also make sure the mulled wine is on tap as our research shows this will be a popular choice with those Christmas Day revellers.
