Propel Summer conference

HGEM event stand

HGEM attended yesterday’s Propel Summer conference, hosted at the Oxford Belfry, in the glorious sunshine. Propel’s Summer event is always a great day catching up with other industry professionals, however yesterday we had the added excitement of launching our latest product, The Hub.

Our new Guest Experience Management (GEM) platform aimed at equipping managers with all the insights necessary to monitor not just the guest experience but also its relationship with the team’s performance on core standards.

We also had the pleasure of speaking at the event, in which HGEM’s Client Success Manager, Jason Horn and Insight Manager, Rich New discussed ‘Could your delivery service jeopardize your brand’? Giving operators something to think about, they reported findings taken from an exclusive survey of consumers in which they shared their perceptions when it comes to delivery.

There were some great presenters, first up was Matt Coles of Morar HPI’s food and drinks team, he shared his study on positive abstinence of generation Y-bother versus generation X-cess, which showed an increase in the number of alcohol abstainers and how to make this a socially acceptable choice.

Martin Morales is a highly inspirational self-taught chef with a clear purpose, and blends all he has learned from past lives in to his brand. He was named Innovator of the Year at this year’s Propel Marketer & Innovator Awards.

Gavin George, CE of Laine Pub Company, shared his insights on the success of his estate, including using your opportunity to create unique experiences by making more use of your space. This included making venues more theatrical by providing entertainment for guests – so much more than just a pub with music.

Matthew Kirby, Ted Robinson, Simon Mitchell, James Baer and Andreas Karlsson discussed the birth of each of their brands and how their hard work and commitment to their original purpose and ideas has paid off. Andreas is from Sweden which added a little humour to the day, our rivals for tomorrow’s big game!

We are already looking forward to next year.
