A new set of awards has been launched to reward employers who provide outstanding programmes of training and development for staff that have a direct result on the success of the business, according to a recent article from hospitalityandcateringnews.com.
Created to champion inspirational and forward-thinking work, applications for the Princess Royal Training Awards have officially opened for UK operators of any size or type to gain recognition for the way they help staff develop. The awards will take into consideration a range of industry sectors from technology and financial services through to retail and hospitality. It is free to enter, applicants will receive support throughout the process, and constructive feedback will be provided on all applications to help businesses build on their training strategies.
Achieving this award will mark out businesses as thought-leaders in their sector, helping them stand out from the crowd.
The application process consists of a written evaluation detailing the success of a business's learning initiative; a supporting statement from a senior manager; and, should the first stage be successful, a visit by an independent assessor will take place.
Skills development experts, the City & Guilds group, are expected to deliver the awards in Autumn of this year. Michael Osbaldeston, Senior Advisor of City & Guilds, commented: "Unlike other awards, the Princess Royal Training Awards will celebrate the achievement of a standard of excellence rather than selecting overall winners."
