Action Against Hunger is a charity that is regularly sponsored by companies and individuals in the hospitality industry, including HospitalityGEM through the generosity of our mystery guests. The charity is a humanitarian organisation committed to ending child hunger; they run life-saving programmes in over 45 countries, each year helping seven million people.
Their annual fine wine auction and dinner is coming up next week, with top Michelin-starred chefs creating the fabulous four course dinner. This is the eighth time the event has been run and has raised over £1.3 million to date. This year, chefs Simon Rogan, Nathan Outlaw and Angela Hartnett are creating a feast of fish, smoked beef and hazelnut choux buns to feed the guests. Each course will be paired with a wine from the sponsoring vineyards and there is a Tattinger reception to start.
The auction will comprise of a selection of rare and fine wines and once in a lifetime experiences, including the opportunity to have a Michelin-starred chef cook for your party and a case of Chateau Latour 1995. Robin Hutson, the co-founder of the event has said to BigHospitality, "This year looks set to be another fantastic evening, great food and wines, great auction lots and let's hope very loose hands to raise a record sum".
The event is a great opportunity to raise awareness about a charity that works to provide things we take for granted, like clean water and food security, to those most in need all over the world. It's a worthwhile and relevant charity for the hospitality industry to support; to read more about the event, others coming up or sponsorship opportunities; visit the Action Against Hunger website.
